All the cameras comin' out for a public affair...

It is Tuesday, so I suppose I should blog about my most excellent weekend. Friday night I watched The Order with Erin, Patrick, and Andrew. Then we went to a fine box social at fellow blogger Ben's house, where we met up with Ryan, Jodie, and Katy. Indeed! It will be the box social that all will speak of for weeks to come!

I got up pretty early on Saturday morning. Did someone say steals? It was a whole day of them. Andrew and I went to various vintage stores and flea markets, where we found some great things for my house. If you are in the neighborhood, you should stop by and see my newly decorated home. I also found the gayest bag ever at Maude Vintage. It looks like somebody made it out of an old pride flag. Andrew found a pink members only jacket! Steals!

That night Erin, Patrick, Andrew, Ryan, Katy, Ben and I all went to see the new Matthew Barney project, Drawing Restraint 9. My stomach was full of the Chuck Shaw and garlic/ricotta mashed potatoes Katy brought. Thanks lady! The film was rather impressive. Some of the scenes were slow, but the climax was beautiful. It involved vaseline, whale fins, and the arctic. The soundtrack was amazing as well. Bjork's music was the perfect complement to the film. Two bottles of chardonnay (don't worry, it was shared) later, it was time for bed.

Sunday morning, I went to breakfast at Ernie's with Jodie and Katy. We had the hottest waitress! We sat down, and who shows up? Why it was Patrick, Jenny, Meghan, and Trent. They joined our table. Good times! The french toast: off tha chain.

Yesterday, I found out I got the McNair Scholars assistant position. Loves it! Apparently a lot of people applied. I was a bit surprised since I don't usually get jobs that I want. I start Thursday. So excited! I think it is going to be a really great opportunity.

I am off to knitting with Katy at the Artisan.

School's back in suckas!

I guess I haven't been blogging like gangbuster's lately. I have no excuse except that I was far too absorbed in easy livin'. Since school has started, my reign of hanging out around CoMo has ended. Here are the highlights since we last spoke (by we I mean the blogging community and by blogging community I mean the five people who read this and by five people who read this I mean my baby's daddy, Ryan, who owes me child support money).

-I was in the Pro Choice/Pro Fashion Show. I walked for Andrew Shirk's line. That guy is so fucking talented! He knows fashion and certainly doesn't belong in the midwest.

-I finally got around to hanging pictures in my house. It looks much less like a hobo-camp in here.

-I got a dog from the Humane Society. He is a Foxhound. I named him Salvatore Ferragamo after one of my favorite designers, but please call him Ferragamo. Ben suggested that I put pictures of him on my blog/social networking sites, but alas, I cannot find my camera's USB cable. I need to remember to get one.

-Last year at Mizzou baby! Tons of WGST courses!

Amazing!

I cannot stop listening to George Michael's "Amazing." Did that sound really gay? Good! Download it. It is really catchy, I swear.

In other news: I am ready for summer to be over. I know I was in love with it in a previous post, but I think we are in a trial separation phase. Hopefully, I get the kids in the custody agreement.

Local blogger (ME) drinks too much coffee at local hang out (the Artisan).

I should be asleep, but I am watching a VH1 Countdown about cheesy love songs (god I am lame) and feeling like I need to ramble on my blog for awhile. My friend Clay stopped by earlier. It was so good to see him. I hadn't seen him in over three years. Looking at him and talking to him reminded me of what I was like before Kenna. I guess that was the last time I saw him.

This being single thing is really odd to me. As I thought about it the other day, I realized that this is the longest I have ever been single. Do I like it? I am ambivalent, or maybe I am just adjusting. *Sigh* I certainly don't have an incessant need to find somebody, but I don't want to become the crazy old lady by the railroad tracks, either. You know, the one will all of the stray cats and stacks of old newspapers? Damn this VH1 Countdown.

My head is empty again. Time to sleep.

You might just live the good life yet...

I am sitting at the Cherry Street Artisan waiting for Megan to meet me so that we can work on the new blog. God I hate waiting for people! (Note: She can't help it...something about a traffic jam). Anyhow, when I got here, two of my favorite blogging friends were here, Katy and Julia.

HEADLINE: Sexy Local Bloggers Meet to discuss mundane crap!

Anyhow, I don't really have much in my head right now, which is kind of unusual...so I am going to make a list of the first things that come to mind:

1. Mr. Belvedere
2.Pudding Pops (why can't I find them in the store anymore?)
3. Nerd Ropes
4.Glade Plug-Ins
5. The movie the Wizard starring Fred Savage
6. John Hardy (sp?) because he is sitting across the room and I finally learned he is, in fact, not Julia's Vaio.
7. My dog Jacques
8. Why are frumpy girls coupled? (yeah that one is kind of mean...)
9. The Cameo song "Word Up"
10. Amsterdam
11. Bomb Pops
12. The news depresses me
13. I am ready for summer to be over...my brain has taken a vacation
